A la vez, también servía como el arma preferida para las rebeliones de esclavos y los levantamientos de trabajadores.

The machete is considered a powerful symbol across all of Latin America, especially in the Hispanic Caribbean. Historically, the machete was the most popular tool for harvesting sugar cane, but conversely also served as the weapon of choice for slave rebellions and worker uprisings.
